The Fruit Of The Spirit is Self-Control
Written by: Steve Dalton and Ricky Spears Recorded by: Ricky Spears
This meditation is the last of a ten part series on The Fruit of the Spirit. Jesus instructed us to love others as we love ourselves. We often interpret this to mean that we are to love others more than we love ourselves. However, His instruction is one of balance. We must love both ourselves and others if we are to be a spiritually healthy and mature believer. To properly produce love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness, we must be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy and balanced. There is a fruit that gives us the strength to be temperate in all these areas - the fruit of the Spirit is Self-control.
We began this series with a contemplative overview of The Fruit of the Spirit, and the next eight episodes focused on the fruits of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, and Gentleness. If you would like to do this particular series of biblical meditations in order, you'll want to begin with these nine meditations.
