I Am the True Vine

I Am the True Vine

Jesus included such great imagery in so much of his teaching. The people He was speaking to at the time would have understood many of the objects in His metaphors. When we study His words today, we may have to use our imagination to better understand many of the nuances of what He was teaching. An excellent example of this is when he taught his disciples saying, "I am the True Vine."

In this Christian guided meditation, you will meditate on this passage and apply it just as the disciples may have. If you are not familiar with vineyards and grapevines, the cover image may help you better understand Christ's metaphor. As you follow along with this meditation, try to imagine this as the kind of vineyard through which you are walking.

I just introduced my good friend Laurie to Mindful Worship and she shared today that this site was the perfect blessing at a perfect time. She, as do I, appreciates your ministry.

This particular segment, Ricky, caused me to think back at the many moments I’ve not allowed The Caring Gardener to prune off certain branches in my life. My branches and leafs turned a sickly brown and died. They never fell completely off. Thus causing a tremendous infection that would be detrimental later on. Trust me, the branches needed to be cut off.

Ricky, because of fear and the lack of trust on my part. It was hard to Trust when all I experience was Pain. I simply hid from Those Tender Hands and all the while still attending church… boy, what a great Christian… huh?!

Honestly, As I was listening to this meditation. The Caring Gardener came my way there in the clear, clean, cool, and sunny vineyard. His voice so calming and loving. His eyes warm with compassion and said: Ang, I Was and Still Am Very Capable of Detaching those dead and dying leafs. I don’t want you to be sick anymore, but rather Healthier. So you may bear the best ripest fruit ever.

Thank you a thousand times for this fruit. It is sweet, juicy, and filling. Thank you, for allowing The Caring Gardener to prune your branches.

    Warmly,
    Angie

Angie – Thanks for sharing! I’m so glad this meditation helped you!

Oh, and take it easy on yourself. There are NO ‘great Christians’, only a Great Savior. The rest of us all have a long ways to grow. 🙂

    Hi Ricky,
Thank you for the wonder meditations.

I tried listening to “I am the True Vine” – it keeps breaking up.

I tried pulling it through – it worked, but broke up and stopped completely 2 minutes later.

Please, could yoou have it checked. Blessings

It might have been a network issue. I just listened to it without issue. Be sure to let us know if there are any other problems so we can look into it.

    Thanks
    Steve
